Publishing Ethics

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

Authors should ensure the originality of the work and that it does not violate the privacy policy or the copyrights of any other entity in any way.
  • All authors of a manuscript are responsible for whatever is stated in the document. The corresponding author is responsible for bringing all the authors on the same page regarding final publication.
  • Authors are required to submit a duly filled ethical approval form to the concerned ethics committee.
  • Authors should grant access permission to all the data available in the research work.
  • Authors should affirm potential conflict of interest (either professional of financial) pertaining the research work. All the sources of funding utilized for the research should clearly be mentioned as well.
  • Authors are not allowed to submit the same idea of research to more than one journal for primary publication, except when the submitted manuscript has been rejected or withdrawn from publication.
  • Authors should responsibly cite the resources used for data collection for research.

Ethical guidelines for Reviewers

  • Reviewers should give unbiased comments for any manuscript they are reviewing. Criterion for judgment should only be the manuscript’s content instead of personal or social traits of the authors. A comprehensive and extensive review report is expected from every reviewer.
  • Reviewers should conduct the review confidentially. Information related to peer review process should not be disseminated to any known or unknown third party.
  • Reviewers should give comments along with their explanation so that the editors and authors can interpret them in the way they have been stated. If any work is being claimed by the reviewers as being previously reported, then this claim should be supported by the relevant citation. Unsupported declarations either by reviewers or by authors will be avoided.
  • Reviewers are not allowed to criticize the author instead of the content.
  • Reviewers need to check all the citations provided in the research work. If the reviewer finds striking similarity between the submitted manuscript and any already published work, it should be reported to the editor.

Ethical guidelines for Editors

  • Editors should assess a manuscript in an unbiased way. The editors and members of the editor’s staff should ensure the confidentiality of the manuscript and should share information only with the guiding experts.
  • Editors should conduct peer review processes according to consistent criteria.
  • Editors should ensure that the intellectual independence of authors remains unaffected.
  • Editors should try their level best to assess a given manuscript accurately and within due time.
  • Editor should ensure that the submitted manuscript is not an already published work or has not been submitted to any other journal for publication.
  • Editor has the right to reject a manuscript if it is not in line with the scope of the journal.
  • Editors should move in a planned way to ensure that the review process and publication are done on time. In case of any deferrals, editors need to inform authors about it in advance. Online publication can be the shortest route to distribution and to setting peer reviewed research in public domain.
  • Any unpublished research work should only be used by the original author after obtaining a written consent for it.

Research Misconduct

Research misconduct can be regarded as the fabrication, plagiarism or misrepresentation in proposing, conducting, or reviewing research, or in stating the results of the research. If any such misconduct is doubted, a pre-defined investigation process will be followed by the journal’s authority. The process will begin with identifying the nature of misconduct such as plagiarism, fraud etc. Further steps will be defined based on the results of first step. Editors should responsibly and critically evaluate any research as they have the detailed knowledge of all possible kinds of misconduct and have the authority to place a claim against any such malpractice they come across. Finally decision is taken depending on the severity of the misconduct. Plagiarism is deliberately presenting someone else’s work as your own. If editor comes to realize the existence of any misconduct, following actionswill be strictly taken:
  • Publishing of the corrections.
  • Rejection of the Manuscript.
  • Already published work having any such misconduct will be rejected and returned to the author.
  • Report of misconduct will be sent to the author’s institution.

Ethical Responsibilities

For Authors:

  • Authors should ensure that their work is only submitted to one journal at a time for publication.
  • Already published work should not be submitted.
  • Authors should avoid fabricating the data for making them suitable for their own research.
  • Manuscripts having excessive plagiarism (more than the allowed limit) will not be forwarded for publication process.
  • Once the documents are accepted, no changes to authorship will be entertained.
  • Authors must clearly state all the sources of funding and conflict of interest.
  • Statistical analysis should be done according to ethical standards.
  • Authors should keep the consequences of research misconducts in mind. The above mentioned procedure will be followed against any such misconduct discovered.

Submission Guidelines

Classification of Contributions

While submitting the manuscript for review, the author(s) is required to classify the manuscript as per the below-mentioned categories. For this the author should compare his/her contribution with below mentioned information. JITDETS classify contributions in the following way:
  1. Original Contribution
  2. Literature Review
  3. Technical Report
  4. Conceptual Paper
  5. Case study

Submission Checklist

  • The author should also consider the below mentioned requirements before submission:
  • In grammatical perspectives the manuscript has been proofread by the experts
  • The consistency in in-text citation and end-reference list should also be ensured
  • The formal permission has been taken for use of copy righted material
  • The author should clearly states if there is any conflict of interest among authors
  • The funding information and copy of contract with the funding organization should be provided in the case the project is funded by any organization
  • The journals guidelines have been followed before submitting the manuscripts

Peer Review

This journal follows the policy of double blind peer review. All contribution’s are sent for at least two anonymous reviewers for review and the final decision regarding acceptance and rejection of manuscripts lies with the editor. And the decision made by the editor is considered as final decision.

Information about the Authors:

The following information is required to be reported with reference to author’s names and their affiliations:
  1. The full name of author(s)
  2. The affiliation (name of university/institute)
  3. E-mail address
  4. Full postal address
All papers must include an abstract of no more than 150 words, 6-8 Keywords. The length of the article should preferably be between 3000-10,000 words. All papers should have an introductory section in which the objectives and methodology of the article are explained and a final section, which summarizes the main points discussed and the conclusions reached.

References Citation

In the in-text citation all citation should be followed by the numbering like, [1], [2], [3] and [4] or [1, 2, 3, 4]. There is no need of citation of author(s) names in the running text. In case of book, the page number should mention in the end-reference list instead of citing them in running text. The personal communication doesn’t need any end-reference list.
